Christ the King School provides an excellent academic foundation in an atmosphere defined by the Catholic principles of respect, responsibility and recognition of each student's natural capacity for growth in faith, abilities and character.

The school was founded in 1937 by the Archiocese of Atlanta and staffed by the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart.  Christ the King School has continued to serve the Atlanta community for 73 years.  Beginning with 60 students, the school today enrolls over 550 students in grades Kindergarten through eight.  Christ the King School is led by an experienced administration, dedicated faculty and committed parents.

Guided by long- and short-term goals identified in its strategic plan, Christ the King School strives to anticipate and meet the challenges of providing a first class Catholic education.

At Christ the King School, education is a cooperative effort involving family, school and church designed to broaden and enrich a child's sense of identity and community.  The K-8 program fosters an appreciation of age-appropriate development, allowing students to develop into leaders and role models by recognizing the different gifts that each child contributes to the student body.  The school program fosters respect for authority, responsibility for one's actions, a desire to achieve one's potential, and aprpeciation of diversity.

The philosophy of Christ the King School is to equip the child with the necessary skills to help the child grow spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, physically, artistically, and sociallv within a Catholic/Christian environment.

The mission of Faith Lutheran Church and School is to connect people to Jesus!

Faith Lutheran Church and School seeks to train and produce students who will contribute in meaningful ways to society as intelligent, thoughtful, Christians. We believe challenging students academically and encouraging them to strive for excellence, in an environment where the Christian ethic and understanding permeates all elements of the school, will contribute to this effort.  Our curriculum follows the Biblical pattern of knowledge, understanding and wisdom.  We believe placing emphasis on mastering the basic subjects (knowledge), followed by training in critical thinking and reasoning skills (understanding), and teaching written and spoken rhetorical skills (wisdom) will produce more “complete” students.  Our vision is implemented daily and we take it seriously.

As Christians we are commanded to strive to make the world a better place.  At Faith Lutheran Church and School we believe producing students who achieve academic excellence and grow and mature with a thorough knowledge, understanding, and love for our Lord Jesus Christ will increase the likelihood that as adults they will be successful in life and contribute to society in meaningful ways.

As a diverse, Catholic Christian community, IHM School models Gospel values while striving to achieve excellence, in order to develop positive, productive, Christian members of society.  IHM Catholic School is an Archdiocesan Catholic school that serves 500 students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Established in 1958, the school is recognized for offering competitive high school and college preparatory programs. Over the years, the school had evolved from one that served only the Immaculate Heart of Mary parish, into one that serves over 30 parishes. Non-Catholics comprise 18% of our student body and students of cultural diversity are 29% of our population.  Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School enjoys a long tradition as a school of excellence, measured by parental satisfaction scores and the accomplishment of our graduates. The school had dual accredited by SAIS/SACS since 1971. SAIS/SACS monitors yearly progress including compliance with state-mandated standards and teacher certification requirements. IHM School was named in 2009 a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. IHM was one of 50 private schools and 264 public schools in the nation to receive this award. The No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private elementary, middle and high schools, that are either academically superior or that demonstrate dramatic gains in student achievement to high levels. Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School received this prestigious award because its students consistently ranked in the top 10 percent of the nation on national standardized tests.

Notre Dame Academy is an independent, Marist-sponsored Catholic school and the first Catholic elementary school in the United States to become an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School for the Primary Years Programme.  The school opened in August 2005 to serve the area's growing Catholic population.  In accordance with Marist tradition, 75% of our students are Catholic and 25% are of other faiths. To complement the challenging IB program, Notre Dame also offers the Fitness for Life Program which includes daily physical education and an emphasis on lifetime habits of good health and nutrition. The third major component of Notre Dame Academy is the Service Learning Program in which the students in each grade level partner with a local non-profit organization to perform age-appropriate service projects while gaining insight into our role in solving societal problems. Notre Dame is proud to offer state-of-the-art technology with over 175 computers in three computer labs and classrooms and 25 SMART Boards. Total enrollment is 460 in grades Pre-K3 through the 8th grade.  Tours are offered most Wednesdays.

Mission & Philosophy

Mission Statement

Westminster is a Christian, independent day school for boys and girls, which seeks to develop the whole person for college and for life through excellent education.

Philosophy

Westminster's founders envisioned a school community with its traditions and philosophy rooted in the Christian faith, and to this day, a Westminster education aspires to cultivate each student's distinctive God-given talents: to inform the mind, to develop the body, and to enlighten the spirit. Through a passionate, talented faculty, a rich and varied curriculum, and the blessing of excellent facilities, Westminster strives to help children in the journey toward maturity, marked by personal excellence, self-knowledge, responsible citizenship, and faith in God.

An excellent education engages the natural developmental stage of each child: the elementary student's joy of discovery, the junior high student's exuberant, dynamic growth, the high school student's emerging sense of purpose. Throughout their school experience, young people encounter opportunities to question, to reason, to express themselves, to discover and pursue a passion, to risk, and sometimes even to fail and to learn from that failure. Through a wide range of outstanding programs, Westminster students grow as healthy, balanced individuals and cultivate personal strengths as scholars, artists, athletes, leaders, and community servants. Through their classroom and extracurricular activities and a multitude of social interactions, they discover that knowledge about the world and their own character should be inseparable, and that knowing how to learn is as important as what one learns. A clear understanding of one's self contributes to responsible citizenship, whether that involves treating each other nicely on the playground, valuing the Honor Code, or respecting our mutual interdependence in a world of many races, creeds, and political views. Ultimately, this emphasis on character complements the students' spiritual maturation, as they learn that humble appreciation of God's bounty means respect for all creation. Westminster's commitment to the Christian faith is more formally advanced through biblical literacy in the curriculum and through an open and respectful inquiry about other faiths, as we intentionally and genuinely strive to model the love of Christ for all people.

Growing up into a whole, healthy, and accomplished young adult is a challenge and a joy, and the entire Westminster community seeks to support and celebrate students along their way. In the spirit of honoring Jesus Christ and his love for all children, we therefore offer this philosophy of education as a prayer: We pray that our students will prosper from and enjoy their journey, that they will mature into life-long learners and truth seekers, and that they will be good stewards, caring for and serving the world in accordance with Christ's example.
